Fodder for Men's Wet Dreams

Men are dropping like flies. Powerful men. Sinking like Jimmy Hoffa in cement boots. Men are scared. Can I complement a woman? Can I talk to a woman? What is it safe to say? What if I want to ask her out? Can I do that? Pardon us when we don't have much sympathy for your plight.

Women have been living this life for millennia. We have been sold into marriage at incredibly young ages. We have been sex slaves. We have been forced to have babies by the men who bought us. We have been forced to abort babies by the men who bought us. We have been beaten and told to obey. We have died in child birth. We have died from abuse. We have lived through forced marriages. We have lived through rapes. We survived the sex trade. We have lived through childbirth. We have lived with barren wombs. We have been the fodder for men's wet dreams. We have been gawked at. We have been groped. We have been harassed. We have been objectified.

Women are kept in a constant state of fear. Be aware of your surroundings. Never walk alone at night. Don't ever drink anything in a bar. Be careful in a taxi. Have your keys between your fingers so you can stab someone in the eyes when walking to your car. Look under your car, in the backseats and all around before getting in and then jump in and immediately lock the doors. If there is a note on your windshield, don't take it because it could be poisoned or a trap. Never dress in anything that isn't conservative. Don't wear your hair in a ponytail - makes you easier to attack.

How many times have you, man or woman, ever looked at a woman who was on the news for reporting a crime against her and she is dressed in a pair of shorts and a halter top and thought to yourself, "Well, she should not have dressed that way. She was just asking for trouble." When you see a man mowing his lawn in a pair of shorts and no shirt, do you immediately think, "Boy, he is just asking to get raped?" No. Why not? He is dressed just as provocatively as she is. And yet, you thought that about the woman. We all have. It's in our cultural DNA.

Somehow it is the woman's responsibility to not get raped. But a man can go jogging after dark. A man can walk around topless. A man can head to his car after dark without checking his backseats or holding his keys at the ready. Men didn't get sold into marriage. Men didn't get sold into the sex trade (I know there are instances, but we are talking about pervasive misogyny here). Men don't get pimped out by their fathers. Men don't get stoned for getting themselves raped. Men don't get fired, end up jailed, or dead because they reported an attack. Women do. All the time. Every day.

So, when we see men in positions of power getting fired almost daily now because women finally have the courage to report them, we have no sympathy. It's not a witch hunt. It's the truth finally coming out into the light. This problem is like an iceberg. 5% is above the water and 95% is beneath the surface. It's time to flip that iceberg over and show everybody how big this problem really is and hold the men accountable who have used women for their own gains. Being a woman is fucking hard. We have to outperform men in our workplaces, in our schools, in sports just to prove we deserve a seat at the table. But once we are sitting at the table, we better be meek and mild and not too aggressive with our ideas, opinions, or fact presentations because that will make the men uncomfortable. So, I ask you ... who is really the weaker sex? Those of us who have lived through millennia of abuse and still manage to continue propagating the species; or those who are enslaved to their own dicks.
